 Our most important service is that of listening to our clients. We work hard to understand their investment requirements and tolerance for risk in achieving their goals. Once achieved, a portfolio is selected and adapted to their needs. But the process doesn’t end there. As the unique needs of our clients change, we stand ready to make any necessary adjustments. 

Because we manage accounts on a discretionary basis, the client is freed from the day to day decisions that go into portfolio maintenance and can thereby focus on reaching long term objectives. The Investment Profile, once adopted, serves as the blueprint for portfolio selection and management. If changes in requirements occur, a new Profile is adopted.  

We communicate with our clients through a variety of forms. The Friday Brief  is published at the end of each week. It provides a summary of those events that influenced investors’ actions during the week as well as our view of the impact they will have on our portfolios in the future. The Brief provides a good general overview of our current investment tactics we are taking to adapt the portfolios for near-term stability while maximizing long-term objectives. It provides a good forum for discussion or questions for those clients who prefer to remain more actively involved in their investment process. For those clients who prefer to “leave the driving to us” the Brief allows them to stay in touch with their investments, but on their terms.  

As trades occur in the portfolio, confirmations are mailed or emailed (if the client prefers) by our custodian, Schwab Institutional. The well-designed monthly statement provides a record of the month's activity as well as an account valuation by asset class. Statements and confirmations may be sent to other interested parties at the client’s direction.  

On a calendar quarterly basis, we provide securities gains and loss information to the client or to a designated CPA or tax preparer to facilitate the calculation of quarterly tax estimates. At the end of the year, we send a tax package that includes all the information necessary to prepare taxes for the accounts we have under management.  

We focus our clients’ attention on long-term performance, but understand that information needs vary from one person to the next. To that end, we post daily, monthly, and quarterly performance reports on this web site. Our more comprehensive quarterly reports are mailed within a day or two of the close of the calendar quarter.
